Job Title: Student Resident Assistant, Academic Year F25-S26

Resident Assistant, Academic Year 2025–2026
Lead by the departmental guiding Principles, the DigiPen Housing L.L.C. Resident Assistant (RA) is a student leadership position tasked to provide support that assists students in achieving personal, social, and academic goals, as well as helping them to develop skills essential to navigating life beyond DigiPen. Resident Assistants have the unique opportunity to build community through being accessible, providing an array of social, educational, and recreational activities, encouraging resident interaction, and being a role model as an interested and active member of the DigiPen community. The position requires an individual who is flexible enough to assume a variety of roles dictated by the changing needs of students. It is crucial that an individual be able to relate well to others and handle administrative responsibilities.
Resident Assistants are responsible for the following key areas:
- Community Development – RAs create monthly programs and activities designed to meet the needs of their residents. RAs will also host meaningful weekly check-ins with their residents and promote resources on campus as needed.
- Resource and Education – As a peer helper, RAs connect residents to other campus opportunities to promote a positive DigiPen experience. RAs also serve as a referral agent to other campus resources such as the Counseling Center, Student Success Advisors, etc.
- Facility Management – RAs are required to complete Health & Safety Checks assigned by DigiPen Housing L.L.C. and submit all necessary maintenance requests to the department in a timely manner. RAs will also assist residents in understanding apartment maintenance and best practices to promote a healthy and comfortable living environment.
- Policy Enforcement and Safety - RAs are attentive to resident safety and apartment security, including the enforcement of housing policies as outlined in the Housing Agreement. RAs will educate residents on their actions and decisions while informing them about how their actions impact an entire community.
- Emergency Response – RAs provide the primary response to emergencies within the communities. While each RA will have designated duty nights and on-call shifts, staff are expected to assist if an emergency is taking place in their vicinity at all times.
- Administrative Tasks – RAs are required to complete weekly reports and other department paperwork/forms as needed/required, administer surveys, and assist with resident move-in and move-out.
Qualifications/Competencies
- Be enrolled at DigiPen Institute of Technology, working towards degree completion.
- Have an accumulative and a semester minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher to apply for and retain the position.
Note: Academic Waivers with the approved department head's signature may also qualify if applicant's GPA is below the requirement.
- Have lived in DigiPen Housing for a minimum of one semester.
Note: Another approved similar experience may also qualify.
- Must be in good judicial standing with DigiPen and the Office of Housing and Residence Life
- Willingness to collaborate and maintain healthy team relationships with many different dynamics and needs.
- Demonstrate the mission of DigiPen Housing L.L.C. and strive to create and maintain a holistic and supportive living environment for all residents.
- Live by and educate residents on the Housing Agreement, Residence Life Handbook, and DigiPen Student Code of Conduct.

Remuneration
Resident Assistants are provided a shared double room in an assigned apartment community and are assigned at the discretion of Housing and Residence Life. Resident Assistants also receive a $250 meal stipend in the form of a gift card per month.
A Resident Assistant who is assigned to the Rainbow Themed Living Learning Community will receive a $300 monthly meal stipend.

- Good Academic Standing – not on Academic Warning as defined in DigiPen Course Catalog
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
Requirement Exceptions:
It is possible to still be selected for a position with DigiPen if you do not meet the requirements above, so don't let that dissuade you from applying!
Once you have applied for – and the supervisor decides to offer you – a position, we will contact the necessary managers (Supervisor, Department Chair, and/or the Dean of Faculty) to complete and sign off on an Academic Waiver form, depending on which requirements need to be waived. Once the Waiver is returned to us, we'll continue you through the hiring process.
